At Children of the 90s, we’re committed to keeping your personal information safe and secure. Our health research is only possible because you share personal data with us.
“We know how much trust that involves,” says Professor Nic Timpson, who leads the study. “You’ve shared important personal information with us, and it’s our job to protect it to the highest standards.”
We use the ‘five safes’ framework to keep your data safe:
- Safe people – Only approved researchers from trusted institutions can access our data.
- Safe projects – Research must be appropriate, ethical, and benefit the public.
- Safe settings – Researchers must demonstrate that they will analyse the data by following strict processes.
- Safe outputs – Before any research is published, we ensure that no one can be identified.
- Safe data – We remove names, addresses, and anything else that could identify you before sharing data for research.
To protect the confidentiality and security of participant data we maintain the best possible information security standard which makes sure our security and safeguards are robust.
